Gig Workers Social Security: Zomato-Swiggy Riders ke liye Govt ka New Rule (2026)

Gig Workers Social Security ko lekar Bharat sarkar ne naye saal mein ek bada tohfa diya hai. Ministry of Labour ne ek naya draft notification jaari kiya hai jo Zomato, Swiggy, Uber aur Ola jaise platforms par kaam karne wale millions of workers ki zindagi badal sakta hai. New Rule ke mutabik, ab in workers ko Social Security benefits paane ke liye saal mein sirf 90 days kaam karna zaroori hoga.

Gig Workers Social Security: Kya hai Naya Rule?

Ab tak delivery partners aur cab drivers ko ‘partners’ bola jata tha, jiske kaaran unhe employees wale benefits (PF, ESI) nahi milte the. Lekin New Social Security Code ke tehat, sarkar ne criteria bahut aasaan kar diya hai.

  • Eligibility: Agar koi worker kisi ek platform (jaise Zomato) ke liye pichle 12 mahine mein kam se kam 90 din (days) kaam karta hai, to wo benefits ka haqdaar hoga.
  • Multiple Apps: Agar koi rider alag-alag apps (Swiggy + Uber) par kaam karta hai, to un sabka total time count hoga. Agar aggregate work 120 days se upar hai, to bhi wo scheme ke liye eligible hoga.

Kaunse Benefits milenge?

Ye kadam Gig Workers Social Security ke liye ek game-changer maana ja raha hai. Is scheme ke under workers ko ye suvidhayein milengi:

  1. Health Insurance: Free medical checkups aur hospitalization cover.
  2. Accident Cover: Road accidents ke case mein muft ilaaj aur compensation.
  3. Maternity Benefits: Mahila gig workers ke liye paid maternity leave ka bhi provision rakha gaya hai.
  4. Pension/PF: Retirement ke liye Provident Fund jaisi suvidha shuru karne par bhi vichar ho raha hai.

Companies par kya asar padega?

Aggregators jaise Zomato, Swiggy, Blinkit, aur Urban Company ko apni kamayi ka ek hissa (approx 1-2% of turnover) ek Social Security Fund mein jama karna hoga. Experts ka kehna hai ki isse companies par thoda financial bojh badh sakta hai, jiske chalte delivery charges mein mamooli badhotri ho sakti hai. Lekin long term mein, ye workers ki safety aur stability ke liye zaroori hai.

Workers ki Demand aur Protest

Pichle kuch saalon se Gig Workers Social Security ki maang zor pakad rahi thi. Rajasthan aur Karnataka jaise states ne pehle hi apne level par laws banaye the, lekin Central Govt ka ye naya draft pure desh mein ek uniform law layega. All India Gig Workers Union ne is faisle ka swagat kiya hai, lekin unhone ye bhi kaha ki “Implementation hi asli challenge hoga.” Unka kehna hai ki companies aksar workers ki ID block kar deti hain, jisse unke working days count hone mein dikkat aa sakti hai.

Registration Process kaise hoga?

Sarkar ne e-Shram Portal ko gig workers ke liye update kiya hai.

  • Sabhi workers ko e-Shram portal par register karna hoga aur unhe ek Unique ID milegi.
  • Platform companies ko apna data sarkar ke saath share karna hoga taaki ye verify kiya ja sake ki worker ne 90 din kaam kiya hai ya nahi.

Kya ye Raasta Aasaan Hoga? (Challenges Ahead)

Halaanki ye kadam swagat-yogya hai, lekin experts ka manna hai ki isse lagu karna itna aasaan nahi hoga. Sabse bada challenge tracking ka hai.

  • Active Hours vs Login Hours: Kya waiting time (jab rider order ka wait kar raha hai) ko working hours mein count kiya jayega? Abhi is par clarity nahi hai.
  • Data Sharing: Zomato aur Swiggy jaisi companies apna data sarkar ke saath kaise share karengi, ye dekhna dilchasp hoga.
  • Cost Impact: Agar companies par cost badhta hai, to kya wo iska bojh customers par daalengi? Ho sakta hai ki aane wale dinon mein food delivery thodi mehngi ho jaye.

Sarkar ko in sabhi technical issues ko resolve karne ke liye Unions aur Companies ke saath milkar kaam karna hoga.

Ek Nayi Shuruaat

Bharat mein gig economy tezi se badh rahi hai aur 2029 tak ismein 2.3 crore workers hone ki umeed hai. Aise mein, Gig Workers Social Security sirf ek policy nahi, balki millions of families ki security ka sawal hai. Agar ye draft law ban jata hai, to ye India ke labor laws ke itihas mein sabse bada sudhar hoga.
