Union Minister of Ports, Shipping aur Waterways, Shri Sarbananda Sonowal ne aaj Guwahati mein ‘Advantage Assam 2.0’ summit mein Assam ke inland waterways sector ko transform karne ke liye ₹4,800 crore se zyada ke investment ki ghoshna ki. Ye investment Brahmaputra (NW2) aur Barak (NW16) rivers par cruise tourism, cargo handling capacity, aur green vessels ko boost karega, jisse region ki growth aur development ko nayi raftaar milegi. PM Shri Narendra Modi ke ‘Viksit Bharat’ vision ko achieve karne mein Assam aur Northeast ka pivotal role hai.| Project | Investment (₹ crore) | Details |

Summit par, ₹1,500 crore ‘Harit Nauka’ scheme ke tahat 2030 tak conventional vessels ko green vessels mein convert karne ke liye allocate kiye gaye hain. Iske alawa, cruise tourism aur cargo capacity ko enhance karne ke liye ₹1,500 crore se zyada ki rakam earmark ki gayi hai. Silghat, Bishwanath Ghat, Neamati Ghat, aur Guijan par jetties ka construction, Guwahati mein Regional Office, MSDC, Guest house, aur ITAT office space ka nirman bhi shamil hai. Pandu mein Ship Repair Facility ke Phase II ke liye ₹375 crore allocate kiye gaye hain.
Dredging Corporation of India (DCI) ko NW2 par Bangladesh Border se Pandu tak 2.5 meters ka assured draft maintain karne ka kaam diya gaya hai, jiske liye ₹191 crore earmark kiye gaye hain. Guwahati aur Dhubri mein Water Metro Service develop kiya jayega, jiske liye ₹315 crore ka investment hai. Dibrugarh mein Regional Centre of Excellence (RCOE) ke liye ₹120 crore aur Brahmaputra par Riverine Lighthouses ke liye ₹100 crore allocate kiye gaye hain. Sagarmala Scheme ke tahat Brahmaputra par ₹646 crore se zyada ka investment riverine infrastructure ke liye earmark kiya gaya hai.
