Mizoram ke teen din ke official tour ke time, Union Minister Harsh Malhotra ne 28 February ko National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL) aur state Public Works Department (PWD) dwara manage kiye gaye highway aur bridge initiatives ki progress ka evaluation kiya.
Road Transport and Highways ke Minister of State ne Aizawl mein NHIDCL office mein operations review karke apni visit shuru ki, jahan unhone central agency ke under chal rahe infrastructure developments ke baare mein officials ke saath discussions kiye. Official reports ke according, NHIDCL Mizoram mein six national highways par lagbhag 820 kilometers ke 33 road projects execute kar raha hai, jiska budget allocation ₹19,800 crore hai. In initiatives ka aim state ke socio-economic advancement ko badhana aur Myanmar aur Bangladesh ke saath international boundaries par strategic needs ko address karna hai.
Efficient oversight ensure karne ke liye, Kolasib, Seling, Lunglei, aur Lawngtlai mein project monitoring units establish kiye gaye hain. Malhotra ne baad mein Mualkhang-Sairang corridor ke proposed four-lane greenfield alignment ka visit kiya aur NH-6 par two-lane Aizawl bypass ke plans ko inspect kiya. Four-lane stretch Vairengte-Sairang route ka part hai, jise Aizawl aur Silchar, Assam ke beech connectivity improve karne ke liye design kiya gaya hai. Officials ne confirm kiya ki is project ke contracts finalize ho gaye hain, aur preliminary work chal raha hai. Bypass, capital mein traffic congestion kam karne ke liye, Sairang-Seling route ko 30 kilometers tak short karega, aur pre-construction activities abhi progress mein hain.
Malhotra ne NH-44A par Tlawng River par 90-meter steel-arch bridge ke ongoing construction ka bhi examination kiya, jo state PWD dwara Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) model ke under manage kiya ja raha hai. Unhone timely completion par emphasize kiya aur officials ko regular updates provide karne ke liye direct kiya, aur completion par personally bridge inaugurate karne ka pledge kiya.
Apne itinerary ke part ke roop mein, Minister ne Aizawl ke paas Hlimen mein ₹7.1-crore road safety inspection and certification center ka visit kiya, aur NH-6 par completed Seling-Dulte stretch aur NH-102B par ongoing Keifang-Tuivai project ka aerial survey conduct kiya. Unka tour Saitual district mein conclude hua, jahan unhone local healthcare aur educational infrastructure ka assessment kiya, aur district officials, community leaders, aur civil society representatives ke saath engage kiya.
